Hot Metal Torpedo Ladle Car Weighing System

Hot Metal Torpedo Ladle Car Weighing System

A Torpedo Cars, also known as hot metal cars, are used. They can stay for two to four hours or even longer. Torpedo cars have more recently been used for molten metal treatments like de-sulfurization and de-siliconization. From the blast furnace to the steelmaking facility, the torpedo vehicle transports molten iron .

Protective refractory bricks are used to line these cars, although they can wear out with time. The formation of hot spots induced by internal refractory wear is detected by temperature scanning of the outer shell. In order to assess and arrange for timely repair, growing wear patterns are being trended.

The RMD can be designed with the site existing rail gauge and ready to fit factory made sensors to replace the existing rail to convert in to a accurate weighing system. All type of torpedo car with any length is weighed with suitable no of RDM.
